Put a smile on your
face.......with this story of true sportsmanship and a
most unusual home run trot. Follow this

Schedule change.......To give
the Minor Softball game a little extra time, the May 17 AA Dodgers at
Diamondbacks has been pushed back from 4:30 pm to 5 pm.
Let's be good neighbors.......to
our friends at Rolling Greens Nursery just down the hill from our
fields. They have reported that unsupervised children have
been throwing rocks at the greenhouses, cars parked at the
Nursery, and even at customers. Luckily nobody has been
injured,
but the nursery has sustained costly damage to some of its buildings.
So, please do not let children wander unsupervised on the
hills
behind the park. And if you see anyone engaged in such
behaviour,
please tell them to stop or alert a coach or board member to the
problem.
Fields of green.........are
what CCNLL and the Culver City Parks
Department are shooting for as the weather warms up. The city
has
worked out a schedule for watering the playing fields that should keep
them in fine shape throughout the rest of the season. If
you're
agronomically-minded you can find that schedule
here.
The league and the parks department are asking everyone
PLEASE do
not tamper with the sprinkler heads. We have had some trouble
with unauthorized "adjustments." If you see that the fields
are
drying out - or are suffering from over-watering - please notify the
field manager, Mario (field@ccnll.org) or George Aceves (310-628-8737)
and they will handle it. Thanks.
