Culver
City National Little League
Volunteer Information
Culver City National Little
League is a volunteer organization that depends upon the participation
of parents. There are many jobs and responsibilities to help
make the League a fun and rewarding experience for the children and
parents alike. Please take a moment to see the ways in which
you can help out. For a volunteer
application, click here.
Join the
Board of Directors:
All of the League operations
are coordinated by the volunteer Board of Directors. If you
are interested in helping to set the course the League will travel
through the season and into the future, becoming a board member is a
great way to do so. While certain skills are a plus in some
positions, the only real requisite is a willingness to work hard in
cooperation with others. To see what each position entails,

descriptions.
Become a coach or manager:
Coaching is a great way to get involved and to pass on valuable
baseball and life skills. While experience is always
appreciated, the League is mostly looking for adults who work well with
kids and are willing to devote the time and energy to bring along our
young players. If you are interested in coaching a team,
please contact the VP of the division in which you would like to coach
(their contact info is here) or drop an email to
iwanttocoach@ccnll.org. The first coaches and managers
meeting will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 10 am up at
Bott's Field. You can fill out a
volunteer form here and a
coaching application
here.
Become an umpire:
Uniformed League officials make the games more enjoyable for players
and fans alike. If you are interested in officiating, contact
the Umpire in Chief, Vicent Punturere, at
umpire@ccnll.org.
Full training and a uniform shirt, hat and gear are provided.
The first Umpire Clinic will be held on Saturday, January 12,
2008 at 12 noon up at Bott's Field.
Become a team parent:
If baseball is more a of spectator sport for you but you still want to
help out, becoming a team parent is a great way to do so.
Working with the managers and the Parents Auxillary, team
parents are in charge of coordinating snacks, team photos, Dodger Day,
"Split the Pot", and other gameday activities. If you are
interested in becoming a team parent, contact your team's manager. You
can also contact the Parents Auxillary with questions
(parentsauxiliary@ccnll.org)
.
Work in the Snack Bar:
Not only is the Snack Bar a wonderful addition to the game day
experience, it's also a fundraising tool for the League.
Unfortunately, the Snack Bar doesn't run itself, so please
volunteer to work a couple of shifts during the season. It's
easy and, believe it or not, it's actually a lot of fun!
Contact your team parent or the Snack Bar Manager (still
unfilled) to sign up.
Become a scorekeeper:
Help keep track of pitch counts, line ups and stats during games.
Training is provided. It's fun and, best of all,
you get to sit in the booth. Contact your team manager or the
Umpire in Chief, Vincent Punturere (
umpire@ccnll.org)
for more information or to sign up.
Help maintain the playing
fields:
Keep our fields looking their best. Volunteer with your
team's manager to drag and chalk the infields before and
after games. If you want to get a little more
involved in maintenance, contact the Field Manager, Mario Garcia
(
field@ccnll.org) to
find out how you can help.
